SUNDAY SERVICE

Schedule

Service starts at 10am on Sunday followed by our Coffee Hour in the Fellowship Hall Downstairs. Our schedule changes to a 9:00am service during the summer months.  Our service is intergenerational with children leaving us part way through the service for Religious Education classes.  Be sure to check our UU Essex Calendar for details about each Sunday service.  Click the following to open the calendar page: UU Essex Calendar

Special Services

The First Universalist Church of Essex, a Unitarian Universalist Congregation, regularly schedules guest speakers, musicians, and performers as part of our Sunday Service.

ORDER OF SERVICE
A typical service consists of the following components~

Greeters welcome you to our church and will hand out a printed copy of our order of service as well as any special music that day.

Seating is open.  Please join others in any of the pews.  We have some cushions available for the pews.  Our church can accomodate for handicap seating as well as handicapped access into the church.  

~OPENING HYMN.
~GREETING FROM THE MINISTER.
~READING OUT LOUD OF LESSON FROM PSALM BOOK.
~A TEACHING FOR ALL AGES.  The minister invites all the children to join him at the front of the church for a teaching for all ages.
~SINGING OF THE CHILDREN OUT as they go to their respective Religious Education class.
~Instropective prayer and asking for prayers for others.
~Hymn
~SERMON by Minister or Guest Speaker.
~Collection of weekly donations taken.
~Closing words and music.

Please join us downstairs in the Fellowship Hall for coffee and food after each service.  We occasionally have potluck lunch together after the service and/or a special meeting is called. Please check the calendar for these events.
